I’ve already reviewed my 26″ Sharp TV/DVD combo and the same assessment applies to this one. It’s a great little unit in every way as far as I’m concerned and I recommend it highly!

Have loved having this TV as a secondary! Picture is clear and very good quality. DVD play is quick to start up. With an antenna, a lot of digital TV signals come in. Sound is good in the small room we have it in. Very glad I bought it. Worth every bit of nearly $400 I spent!

Aging eyes required a bigger screen than the little 13″ we were watching, hence this “big” screen tv, and the built in DVD player allowed us to get away from reruns. Its light weight, easy to assemble (stand to tv itself), easy to use. PIcture is great! Sound is very good. takes up very little space (important for us), we could have even gotten a wall mount if we wanted. I have two complaints. time lag between changing the channel and having the image come up. For those of us who surf a lot, its like dial up computer service vs DSL. You have to wait for it to load up. My second complaint is the way the TV reads the signals from our cable channel. I now have channel 42.002, 42.003, etc. So if I want to watch the Closer in digital instead of analog I have to remember that it comes up on channel 47.005, while Monk in digital can be found on channel 42.007. These specifics are not found in the TV guide, and there is no specific way to actually put those numbers into the remote. You go to channel 47, wait for it to come up. Then start the up channel button until you get to where you are going.

We purchased this Sharp TV with a built in DVD player for its DVD abilities. Once it is up and running, we have been totally pleased with the picture quality and sound. Getting there, however, is sometimes a chore. The remote that accompanied the product is not the one described in the materials, and so it took — indeed is still taking — some experimentation to figure what does what and how to accomplish even something as basic as pausing the DVD. Equally so, getting started on a DVD with more than one selection is still non-trivial to us. I am sure all this will change shortly once we get accustomed to it and then we will be totally enamored. For the moment, I would welcome a greater ease of use of the DVD. I cannot speak to any other feature.

I have been without a working television for the last 3 years. When I broke down and decided to buy another set, I took my time and went to all my local outlets – WalMart, Best Buy and Staples and priced sets and learned about key features.
I chose this set for the following: great clear picture quality – at least to my eyes, even more important to me – the audio is surprisingly good – it is loud enough and there are enough choices on your audio menu that you can tailor the sound – I would recommend that you use the surround sound feature, the remote control is adequate and there are outputs for computer and catv built in and it is digital ready.
In addition, this unit came with a DVD player, and the quality of the player is excellent. Overall the LC-22DV27UT is worth the money being charged. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
Are there things I wish it had…yep – 1080 dp. But I am unwilling to pay a considerable amount more for that feature. I also would have preferred a full service espresso bar with a beautiful barista to watch movies with but evidently Sharp has not developed that level of technology or at the very least it is not available to those of us who are not interested in purchasing high dollar home entertainment systems.
There’s always hope for the future.
