I bought this thing in December. I still can’t get it hooked up right. The ‘Quick Set-Up’ directions are bunk. The Toshiba 1-888# is never answered, always closed, and if I hadn’d paid so much for it, it would be my new kayak anchor!

Exactly what a friend wanted for Christmas for herself. Nice looking and works very well.

I like other products from this company, but this recorder never really got hooked up because the tuner would not work coming from the box. Amazon.com took care of the shipping to and from and did everything they were suppose to do.

This unit presents with poor black box styling and difficult to read labels on the few controls. Anunciator panel is small and cannot be easily seen.
But does it work? Well no since the VCR unit does not record or play sound. Obviously it is defective. I am very dissatisfied with the extremely poor product coming from manufacturers of VCR, DVD and Combo recorders. I have tried units from several manufacturers only to have them be defective or to fail in someway after a few months. Well this is another one from Toshiba!
Old VCR units from as far back as 1986 have been put back in service to do recording. Heck you can program the old units without turning on the TV
from the front panel. I am very weary of the cheap manufacture, poor styling, dysfunctional performance and ugly tacky shiny black color of electronics today.
